Marinated Beef Ribs Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef ribs (short ribs or beef back ribs)
- 1/4 cup A1 sauce
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke (1 tablespoon mesquite and 1 tablespoon hickory for a unique flavor)
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Additional Seasonings
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (for sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or oregano
Instructions
-
Prepare the Marinade:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together A1 sauce, barbecue sauce, both liquid smokes, hot sauce, vinegar, cooking oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
-
Decide on Ribs Type and Marinate:
- For Short Ribs: Marinate for 8-12 hours in the refrigerator.
- For Beef Back Ribs: Marinate for 4-8 hours in the refrigerator.
- Place the beef ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish to retain the marinade.
Cooking Methods
Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off.
- Place the beef ribs in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25-35 minutes, depending on the thickness of the ribs, flipping halfway through. Aim for an internal temperature of at least 190°F (88°C).
Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
- Wrap the ribs securely in aluminum foil to keep moisture in during cooking.
- Place the wrapped ribs on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 2.5-3 hours until the meat is tender. For the last 30 minutes, unwrap the ribs and brush with additional barbecue sauce for a glaze.
Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
