Cooking Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of jowar flour, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add water to the dry ingredients and knead until you form a smooth dough. Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
- On a clean surface, sprinkle a little jowar flour to prevent sticking. Roll out each ball into a flat disc, about 6 inches in diameter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or tava on medium heat. Once hot, place the rolled-out roti on the skillet.
- Cook each roti for about 30-40 seconds on one side, then flip it over. Optionally, brush a little olive oil on both sides and cook until you see brown spots and the roti puffs up.
- Remove from the skillet and keep warm in a towel. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
Flavor Profile
