Wash, peel, and chop the raw mangoes, taking care around the seed.
Put the mango pieces into a blender. If your blender struggles with frozen ingredients, add 1/2 cup water to help it along.
Add sugar, roasted cumin powder, a pinch of salt, and lime juice if using. Blend until smooth.
Add a few ice cubes to the blender and pulse briefly to chill and slightly dilute the juice — don't over-blend or it will water down too much. If you prefer a colder drink without extra dilution, simply pour the blended juice over ice cubes in each glass.
Taste and adjust sweetness or salt. If too thick, stir in up to 1 cup cold water a little at a time until you reach the texture you like.
Divide into three glasses over ice cubes, garnish with mint if you wish, and serve immediately.
