Cheesy Puff Pastry Puffs with Caramelized Onions

Ingredients
- 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry (thawed)
- ½ cup cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup shredded cheese (your favorite, like cheddar, mozzarella, or a cheese blend)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for sautéing)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Sauté the Onions:
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil or butter. Once hot, add the finely chopped onion.
- Sauté the onions until they're soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Season with a little salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling:
- In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheese, sautéed onions, garlic powder (if using), and seasoning. Mix until well combined.

- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into squares (about 4x4 inches).
