Smoked Salmon Mac and Cheese

- 8 oz elbow macaroni or your pasta of choice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 oz smoked salmon, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill or chives, chopped (for garnish)
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for a crunchy topping)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (if using breadcrumbs)
Instructions:
