Ingredients:
- 3 pounds chicken drumettes or wings
- 1/2 tablespoon seasoned salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup hot sauce (adjust based on desired spiciness)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the chicken drumettes or wings in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle them with seasoned salt and toss until they are evenly coated.
- Place the seasoned chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until they are cooked through and crispy.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, combine water, hot sauce, honey, garlic powder, and melted butter. Whisk together until well combined.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
- Remove the cooked chicken wings from the oven and transfer them to a clean mixing bowl.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken wings in the bowl. Toss to coat the wings evenly in the sweet and spicy sauce.
- Return the sauced chicken wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes to allow the sauce to penetrate and caramelize.
- Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings as an appetizer or a main course with your favorite dipping sauces and sides.
