This recipe is all about the simplicity of the ingredients and the sweetness of the salmon. Cast iron is always a great choice for searing fish to get a crisp skin and a juicy, flaky texture.
Ingredients
- 1 pound salmon fillet
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Pat dry the salmon fillet with paper towels.
-
Heat up your cast iron skillet on medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt.
-
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
-
Place the salmon fillet skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes without touching the salmon so that the skin can crisp up.
-
Flip the salmon fillet over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until it's cooked through to your liking.
-
Turn off the heat and let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes in the skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Serve the salmon fillet with your favorite sides and enjoy!
The butter and garlic in this recipe add a rich flavor that complements the salmon without overpowering it. The cast iron skillet helps to achieve a nice crust on the skin and seals in the flavors.
