Ingredients
- 4-5 chocolate waffles, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups milk
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra richness)
- Whipped cream or ice cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Gently fold in the torn chocolate waffles, making sure they’re all coated in the custard mixture. If you’re using chocolate chips, fold those in now as well.
- Let the mixture sit for about 5-10 minutes, allowing the waffles to soak up some of the custard.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish (approximately 9x9 or similar size).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
