Classic Cinnamon Apple Donut Holes

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- ¾ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup finely chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- ½ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin pan or donut hole tray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Use a spoon or a small cookie scoop to fill the muffin pan or donut hole tray about ¾ full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While the donuts are baking, mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl for rolling.
- Once the donut holes are done baking, let them cool for a few minutes, then toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they’re coated evenly.
