There's nothing quite like a beautifully crafted cheeseburger! This recipe brings together juicy beef and creamy Swiss cheese, topped with all the classic fixings. Perfect for dinner with family or friends!
Ingredients
-
For the Burgers:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 burger buns (your choice: classic, brioche, whole wheat, etc.)
-
Toppings:
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato, sliced
- Pickles, sliced
- Onion, thinly sliced (grilled or raw, your choice)
- Mustard and/or mayo
- Optional: Cooked bacon strips
Instructions
-
Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form them into burger patties. Make a little indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
-
Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them gently and place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
-
Toast the Buns: While the burgers are cooking, toast your burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
-
Assemble the Burgers: Spread your choice of mustard and/or mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheesy burger patty. Top with slices of tomato, pickles, and onion. If you’re using bacon, add that on top too.
-
Serve and Enjoy: Cap it off with the top half of the bun, serve with your favorite sides (fries, potato salad, or coleslaw), and enjoy your delicious homemade Classic Swiss Cheeseburger!
