There's something so comforting about creamy pasta, especially when it’s infused with delicious garlic. This dish is simple to whip up, perfect for a cozy dinner for two, and is gentle on the tummy.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for a hint of heat
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes (be careful not to burn it!).
- Add Cream: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently. Allow it to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Combine: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Mix in the Pasta: Toss the drained pasta into the sauce, mixing to ensure the pasta is well-coated.
- Serve: Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat.
