Ingredients
- 8 oz macaroni
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add flour to the butter and whisk until smooth.
- Add in the milk and whisk again until smooth.
- Add in the cheddar cheese and continue to whisk until the cheese has completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir well to coat the pasta evenly.
- Serve immediately.
