Backstory: This recipe was inspired by my grandkids' love for finger foods and crispy textures. It's a delightful combination of crispy salami, crunchy lettuce, and a creamy yogurt dip. The kids will have so much fun assembling their own wraps!
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of salami
- 8 lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or romaine)
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French fries (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven according to the french fries package instructions, if using.
- Place the salami slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake them in the preheated oven until they turn crispy, about 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- While the salami is baking, prepare the lettuce leaves by washing them thoroughly and patting them dry.
- In a small bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with salt and pepper to taste. This will be the dip for the wraps.
- Once the salami slices are crispy, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- To assemble the wraps, take a lettuce leaf and place a slice of crispy salami in the center.
- Top it with some sliced onion and a dollop of the yogurt sauce.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients and serve the wraps with a side of French fries, if desired.
Enjoy the delightful crunch and flavors of these Crunchy Salami Lettuce Wraps! It's a versatile recipe, so feel free to add any other available ingredients that you think your kids might enjoy. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy cooking!
