Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 4 tablespoons Stevia or monk fruit sweetener
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree, apple cider vinegar, Stevia/monk fruit, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan and stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the sauce has thickened, remove from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- You can use the sauce immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
This BBQ sauce has a tangy and slightly sweet flavor profile and works great as a marinade or a finishing sauce. Enjoy!
