These pancakes bring back memories of cozy mornings with the smell of breakfast wafting through the air. Drizzle them with maple syrup, and you've got a classic breakfast that will warm your heart.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (you can use buttermilk for extra fluffiness)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Cooking spray or extra butter for the pan
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, and melted butter until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are just fine!
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or butter.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side (another 1-2 minutes).
- Serve warm with plenty of maple syrup, fresh berries, or even a dollop of whipped cream!
