Hersheys Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 and 3/4 cups (350g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
- 1 cup (170g) Hershey's chocolate chips (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until well combined.
- Gradually pour in the boiling water, and mix until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
- Remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cakes have cooled, you can frost them with your favorite frosting or simply dust them with powdered sugar. You can also melt some Hershey's chocolate chips and drizzle the melted chocolate over the cakes for added decoration.
