Description
Butterbeer is a warm, sweet, frothy beverage served in the wizarding world. Made with a combination of butterscotch, cream soda, and marshmallow, this recipe is sure to delight any Harry Potter fan!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of cider vinegar
- 6 cans of cream soda
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of marshmallow fluff
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of butterscotch extract
Instructions
- Begin by making the butterscotch sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, water, and butter. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is bubbling.
- Add the salt and cider vinegar to the saucepan, and continue to stir until the mixture thickens and turns a deep amber color. This should take approximately 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the butterscotch sauce from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream soda, heavy cream, marshmallow fluff, vanilla extract, and butterscotch extract until well combined.
- Pour the butterscotch sauce into the cream soda mixture, and stir until fully incorporated.
- Serve the Butterbeer warm, garnished with an optional cinnamon stick, if desired.
