This cheesy flatbread is super simple to make and bursting with flavor. Perfect as a snack or a side dish!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite)
- Optional: herbs (like oregano or basil) for extra flavor
Cooking Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 3-4 minutes until smooth.
- Rest the Dough: Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes to relax.
- Shape the Flatbread: Divide the dough into 2-3 equal portions. Roll each portion into a flat circle or oval, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cook the Flatbread: Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese onto the flatbreads in the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt. You can cover the pan with a lid to help the cheese melt more quickly.
- Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with optional herbs if desired. Cut into wedges and serve warm!
