Apple Crisp

Ingredients
For the filling:
- 8 cups of apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
For the topping:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 F (175 C) and lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg until the apples are evenly coated. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Using a pastry blender or your hands, cut in the cubed butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top of the apple mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Remove the crisp from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
This Apple Crisp is the perfect dessert for using up a lot of apples. The filling is sweet and slightly spiced, while the crumbly topping adds a nice crunch. You can serve this crisp warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
