These Chocolate Sugar Cookies are a delightful twist on the classic sugar cookie, infused with rich chocolate flavor and topped with a dusting of cinnamon sugar. They are perfect for a sweet treat any time of day.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon), for topping
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
-
In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
-
Add the egg to the sugar-butter mixture and mix until well incorporated.
-
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add the milk to moisten it slightly.
-
Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in size, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork and sprinkle the tops with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
-
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until set.
-
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy these Chocolate Sugar Cookies with a lovely cup of milk or your favorite hot beverage for a delightful snack with a perfect balance of chocolate and cinnamon sugar flavors!
