Easy Oreo Spider Cake

This charming little cake is not only fun to look at but is also super easy to make. With rich chocolate flavors and crunchy Oreos, it’s a delightful treat to celebrate any spooky occasion!

Ingredients

• 1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required on the box, usually eggs, oil, and water)
• 1 pack of Oreos (about 15-20 Oreos)
• 1 tub of chocolate frosting
• 1-2 cups of chocolate chips (optional for decoration)
• 8-10 mini pretzel sticks (for spider legs)
• 2-3 candy eyes (or use chocolate chips for eyes)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions (usually 350°F or 175°C).
2. Prepare your cake mix as per the package instructions and pour the batter into a greased and floured round cake pan.
3. Bake the cake according to the package directions. Once baked, allow it to cool completely in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
4. Once cooled, place the cake on a serving plate.
5. Spread a generous layer of chocolate frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
6. Crush 10-12 Oreos into fine crumbs. Sprinkle these crumbs evenly over the frosted cake to create a "dirt" effect.
7. Use 4 mini pretzel sticks on each side of the cake for the spider's legs, inserting them gently into the cake.
8. For the spider’s body, place a large Oreo in the center of the cake. You can also use some chocolate chips to create a smaller body next to the large Oreo if preferred.
9. Stick 2 candy eyes on top of the Oreo to give it character.
10. Optionally, use chocolate chips to add more decoration around the cake.
