These brownies are rich, fudgy, and packed with protein thanks to Greek yogurt. Perfect as a post-workout treat or a satisfying dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, unsweetened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour, if preferred)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus more for topping, if desired)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cooking Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
-
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
-
Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
-
Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a handful for topping.
-
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
-
Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Flavor Profile
These fudgy brownies boast a deep, rich chocolate flavor balanced with a slight tanginess from the Greek yogurt. The chocolate chips add bursts of melted chocolate, enhancing the brownie experience without overwhelming sweetness.
