These delightful buns are filled with a mix of dry fruits and a hint of honey, giving you a comforting treat that’s not overly sweet. Perfect for a quick snack or light dessert!
Ingredients:
- 4 buns (preferably whole wheat for a healthier option)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup oats
- ½ cup mixed dry fruits (such as raisins, apricots, or almonds)
- 2 tablespoons honey (adjust based on your sweetness preference)
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional for extra flavor)
- A sprinkle of salt
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the oats, milk, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to absorb the milk.
- While the oats are soaking, chop the dry fruits into small pieces and mix them with honey in a separate bowl. Add a pinch of cinnamon if desired.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the buns in half and toast them lightly in the oven for about 5 minutes until they are warm and slightly crispy.
- Once the oat mixture has set, spoon a generous amount onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the honey and dry fruit mixture.
- Place the top half of the bun back on and enjoy warm, or pop them back into the oven for another 5 minutes if you want everything heated through.
Flavor Profile:
These buns have a comforting, nutty flavor from the oats and a natural sweetness from the honey and dry fruits. The hint of cinnamon adds warmth and depth, making each bite a delightful experience without being overly sweet.
