This versatile sauce is perfect for marinating meats or veggies, and it makes a delightful finishing touch for any dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw honey
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon chipotle powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-2 tablespoons water (to achieve desired consistency)
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the raw honey, apple cider vinegar, and soy sauce, stirring gently until blended.
- Add in the smoked paprika, chipotle powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help develop the flavors.
- If the sauce is too thick for your liking, stir in a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and let it cool. Use as a marinade for at least 30 minutes before cooking, or brush it on your dish right before serving.
Flavor Profile:
This BBQ sauce boasts a perfect balance of smokiness, a mild spice that tickles your tongue, and a gentle sweetness from the raw honey. The apple cider vinegar provides a tangy depth, making it an ideal companion for grilled meats, roasted veggies, or even as a dip.
Happy cooking, my dear! Let me know if you need any adjustments or have any other questions! 🥰🍯
