Ingredients
Instructions
- 1
In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the cumin and coriander seeds, allowing them to sizzle for a minute until fragrant.
- 2
Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- 3
Stir in the minced garlic and followed by the chopped tomatoes, cooking until they soften and meld into the onion mixture.
- 4
Introduce the beef pieces, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- 5
Sprinkle in the turmeric, red pepper powders, black pepper, salt, cloves, and cinnamon. Stir well to coat the beef in spices.
- 6
Add the cubed potatoes, sliced carrots, and green chillies, mixing everything thoroughly.
- 7
Pour in enough water to cover the mixture (about 500ml), then bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and let it simmer for about 1 hour to allow flavors to develop and beef to tenderize, stirring occasionally.
- 8
If desired, pour in the milk 10-15 minutes before the curry is done to create a richer sauce, stirring to blend.
- 9
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices as desired.
- 10
