Cooking Instructions
-
Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the warm milk, honey, and eggs.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, and salt. Add the milk mixture and the butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
-
Make the Filling:
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and citrus zest with a pinch of salt.
-
Form the Rolls:
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16 x 24 inches).
- Spread the melted butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the top.
- Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let them rise for another 30-60 minutes.
