SzechuanStyle Chicken Thigh Marinade

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Five Spice Powder
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 inch Ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper (adjust based on your spice preference)
- 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar (or Rice Vinegar if available)
- 1 tablespoon Honey (for a touch of sweetness)
- Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, five spice powder, minced garlic, grated ginger, crushed red pepper, balsamic vinegar, honey, and black pepper.
- Whisk the marinade until well combined.
- Place your chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish, then pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure it's well-coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor absorption.
- When you're ready to cook, remove chicken from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken thighs for about 7-8 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and charred to your liking.
